Pont Du Gard

|
I love this place very much. Let me just start with some history of Pont du Gard that i have found over the net.

"Pont du Gard is a three-level stone aqueduct crossing the Gardon river valley, about 25 km west of Avignon. Built over 2000 years ago, in 19 BC, by Marcus Vipsanius Agrippa, the son-in-law of Augustus.

Pont du Gard is located 25 kilometers from Nîmes, in the direction of Avignon. Inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 1985, the Pont du Gard is visited by more than 1,250,000 tourists every year. The bridge is part of the aqueduct built around the year 50 to transport water from the Eure spring near Uzès to Nîmes, a distance of over 50 kilometers."

More Story at this site

IT takes approximately 45 minutes drive from Nimes. Yes at this point of time we need the GPRS desperately. Unfortunately, the GPRS lead us to the dead end. Wtf. We goota make a U-turn and look for the sign board that lead us to the Site of Pont Du Gard.

The temperature is about 4-12 Degree Celcius.

Along the way is a stretch of highway with small village that appear once in a while. When I have my dinner in the hotel, i happen to ask the local people there, Where do they come from? The answer was, From a small town near somewhere with the population of 100 people.

This GPRS brings us close enough, but always ended up with dead end. And it cost 10 Euro per day. :S

Surprisingly, the GPRS will be able to detect the speed trap and notify the distance to the Speed trap machine. Its worth it after all hehehe.

This reminds me of the literature that i study during my high school.
''The road not taken by Robert Frost''

Why is it that the first road taken is always the wrong one? urgh.... But no regrets :D

Site Pont Du Gard - Entrance to the MegaWall. Will still have to walk quite a distance, about 8 minutes? The weather makes every second feels like a minute.
