I got my ticket very much earlier, 6 months in advance, when AirAsia came out with the promotion of ZERO air fare to Gold Coast. Zero Air fare doesn't mean that i get to fly for free. But at a minimum cost which include the airport tax and surcharge. Choosing the night departure time, initially i thought i will be able to sleep until the next morning. Unfortunately, just before departure, i suffer from Tachyarrhythmia (heart beat which exceed 100 beat per minute - wtf) because my name was being announced on air.
It goes like, Attention Mr Lim Xin Wen, please proceed to the boarding gate immediately. REPEATED TWICE. omg. Freaked out and i quickly rush to the counter to find out whats going on. I was told, that is the last call for the flight to Gold Coast. (i think you are the last person they are looking for!!). WTF. Only then i realised that i misinterpret the time . It is stated clearly on the itenery, PRINTED out, 2125. And i thought 2125 is 10.25 pm. Lucky thing we went there 2 hours earlier (thanks to my dad advice otherwise i could have miss the flight). Checked in just 15 minutes before the boarding gate close. The best is i am still not aware of the departure time after i checked in, thinking that i still have 1 hour to wait, so we (me and parents) waited outside until the announcement. And i rush like there is no tomorrow.
Never never repeat same mistake again. Its so embarrassing. The crew brought me to the aircraft. Only two of us (me and the crew), No queue, because everyone already settle down in the aircraft waiting to take off. Only then i walk in alone searching for my seat. Like an idiot! Anyway, this is my first time flying alone leaving home for 1 month. Apart from holiday, i take it as a challenge for myself. Its not easy to survive with the currency 3.12 (1AUD = RM 3.12). Yes, i bowl of noodle is only 7 AUD, So cheap but RM 21 will sound very expensive to me!!!!
AirAsia Seats
This is what i have to face for the whole 8 hours. I dare not go to the toilet and don't know where is the toilet located also. One thing i find it very annoying is that, 3am to 4 am, the air-stewardess will serve, i don't know its more appropriate to call it Supper or Breakfast, and it smells horrible. Beh tahan. I have to grab my bag and cover up my nose and even that doesn't help much. The smell remain for hours. Yes i understand that they have wide range of food which include Asian Fried Rice with Chicken Satay , Asian Food - Pak Nasser's Malaysian Nasi Lemak, and Sri Melur Jaya Roti Jala. I will appreciate if they come out with a food which taste good and yet Odour-less.

I can't sleep since the food was served to the passenger. I have no choice but to wait for the sun rise. Starring outside the window waiting for sun shine. Tick Tock......

The bright spot is not the reflection of the flash, it is suppose to be the Sun. OK. Only at this point of time, i was thinking, what am i going to do after arrival. Who am i suppose to contact? What if that person don't pick me up from the airport? I didn't know that it takes 1 hour train to reach Brisbane :S I didn't know that i have to walk 2 Kilometer away before i can get into the bus. i didn't know that i have to take bus to the train station then another 1 hour journey in the train to Brisbane Central. I didn't know that Gold Coast is 14 zone away from the central. Yes, i Don't know anything :D

Finally sun rise. Unfortunately i can't get a perfect view of the Sun rise. What i manage to see is just the reflection of the sun light. And on the other side is the ground of Coolongatta.

I can't swim. I was thinking what if the aircraft suddenly land on the water surface. wth. I'll be the first one to drown. All the demonstration on safety precaution is useless. Cuz' i watched a lot of documentation on Air Crash Investigation. I don't know any of the similar case will happen in this aircraft :D Scary!!
Brisbane Story Bridge
I need to take Flight, Bus, Train, Ferry, and Walk before i reach the place to stay. Duration 12 Hours Approximately. (yes the flight is only 8 hour, + train 1 hour bus 30 min walk 30 min airport check in and out 2 hour) hahahahah..... Never thought of that :S The picture above is taken during CityCat ride from the City (Riverside) to Mowbray Park.
Shafton Service Apartment
View from Shafton, very obvious the grass is not greener but i just love the colour of the sky. Always Baby Blue in the morning, Pinkish Purple during sunset, and Jet Black with lots of stars during night time :D This is the place where i stay for a night.
Korea Ice-Cream
I got this ice-cream from the convenient shop nearby. It taste like coffee-ice-blended. Strong Milky Coffee Taste... Yummy :D Eating ice cream during Winter is the best thing to do on earth :S Right after that, i will have to move house again. wtf. Nomad lifestyle.

Nandos at Sir Fred Schonell
My First Breakfast at Brisbane :D and it cost a Bomb. Need not mention how much it cost. but comparatively, very much more expensive. They serve alot of potato chips and the chicken is malnutrition... Just like the world vision children. Lack of Food supply and can't grow up properly. hahahaha.... I don't eat chicken with hand because i think it looks horrible. So when the chicken doesn't not contain enough flesh. I only chew the bones... wtf. 3/4 is the Chips and half of the 1/4 is the bones.... Its expensive to eat out and its troublesome to cook yourself at home. Life sux.
After the breakfast, we head down to the city. Unfortunately, it rains. Scary thing about Australia is when you wake up early in the morning and it is raining, IT WILL rain for the whole day. Seriously. And the weather forecast is very much accurate and i have to plan my day according to the forecast. If its going to rain, must well just stay at home.
Rainbow
The weather in Malaysia is crazy. The sun can be right on top of your head (shinning) and rain cats and dog at the same time. wtf. Consequently, people here have to stay away or stay under shelter hoping that will not fall sick because of this weird weather. But when the Sun comes after the rain. This will result in rainbow. How often do you came across a rainbow? Have you ever seen double rainbow?

In the bus
The public transport cost 5.40 AUD per day. (Zone 1 and Zone 2) Everywhere you go the bus will pass by zone 1. So basically you will have to get the ticket that cover 2 zone (minimum). For UQ Student they have special treatment where they only need to pay half the amount. 2.70 AUD. wtf. Sometimes, its just too far to walk, but to near to take public transport. So ended up staying at home. Because if i were to travel out everyday, the transportation cost is crazy. Brisbane city (upcoming post).

Like i mentioned earlier, Pinkish Purple sky. I get very fascinated with the colour of the sky during sun set. Yes, i can never get used to the city that close after 5.30pm. Everything closes at 5.30pm. No more shopping, no more activity, no more people. Its empty, its dead City. Omgosh. This is the reason when there is nothing else to look at, i will look at the sky :D
The sky is Clear. Not even a Single cloud. This is the reason why, you will be able to see millions of stars later at night.

Randomly selected this stall and because of the weather we decided to try out steamboat :D You know in those winter country, people eat steamboat in order to keep their body temperature warm. Food being cook right in front of you and the it goes straight into your mouth right after. Sure Hot la... I burnt my tongue alot of times because of STEAMBOAT. It hurts really bad. I just don't get it why steamboat business is doing very well in Malaysia. The weather here is enough to kill you, and you obviously do not need the heat from the steamboat to keep you warm. I think perhaps could be the reason of the 6th taste (FRESH). (other than sweet, sour, salty, bitter, spicy). Everything taste good when it is FRESH... ya this include Fresh Milk :S hahaahahah

This conclude my first week at Brisbane. Yes, nothing much besides the Brisbane city tour. I took this opportunity to familiarise myself with the Brisbane road and current weather condition. I always choose to go during winter. I just can't tolerate the Hot-ness here. :)
