Street Smart or Book Smart

After one whole day of travelling, we settle down for a dinner at Thai Express. Again for the same reason i don't have a chance to take a snapshot for the food:D

So on the table, first time meeting up with the colleague here in Singapore, i feel weird and not really that comfortable. Until we came up with a topic that we studied at the same campus. I was told about education history whereby he graduated from Monash as well. Soon after we came to name out the professor and lecturer that seems to be famous in the campus.. The first nominees was Dr. Robin M.. For those graduated under Biotechnology in Monash M., definitely will know him. Very common that we will describe him as the person who is very Smart but can't present his idea into teaching method. Sorry i have to say that i skip 80% of his class, yet i manage to pass. (Thank god i dont have to repeat and see him again next semester). Not to emphasize level of smartness here, but its just not my cup of tea. :D



Second person he mentioned about was the lab staff. If not mistaken Jaygen or something? I just only found out that he is famous being a molester in the laboratory. Gosh i was one of the enemy involved. CCB. Then this was used as the *hot* topic being describe and discuss about everytime we get to the lab. Came to think back, feel like smacking him with the retort stand.




Ok why this topic was called Street Smart or Book Smart.
I shall discuss on behalf of my own point of view. In the working world, there are really smart people when it comes to study, and some who dont have the exposure to education system, but somehow or rather got their experience thru their life the hard way.




I was told that the representative here pick up really fast and learn things really fast. Ok i was like, WOW so Godly? Its not an insult Ok! but i was shocked with the description that has been given to this person who graduated 2 years earlier than i Do. So when i actually speak with him, true enough he have got the exposure or experience that he need to survive in this area of work concern. Undeniably, that he could pick up things fast, fast-learner and very outgoing person. Yes, i do enjoy talking to him. At least i do feel abit of respect :D

And then we came to the topic of travelling around in Paris and France. So interesting, and anticipate for the trip to France. Before that, i need to learn France-lish. Heheh..

What i always want to emphasize is that, although i am still young, yes i am the youngest of all who present here in the whole duration of training. I am not stupid. I dont know why people always look down on me. At least i have the feeling so. I am confident that i will be doing good. But somehow in the end there will be someone to degrade and give negative comment. WTF.. Sigh... FUCK OFF.. I SERIOSULY HATE people who think he is very smart. Or Act the way as if you know everything.

Back to the topic, i personally think that education is necessary and important for future. Without a proper education, is like living without one side of the leg. This explains why employer looking for people from book smart background having street smart experience. So those without the conbination of this two will suffer. Very much.

No matter how much u have learn or studied, when work is in concern. it might be your first encounter and then only u become experienced from there. So, goota be patience and hope the best will come.

I was told that only 4 % of indonesian own a Bachelor degree qualification. And this explain why i got a culture shock when i went over to Bandung earlier. There is a big problem with the education system in indonesia which results in people asking for money when a car stops for red light. (a sindicate) Its the opposite when it comes to Singapore, they have been given too much education and with the HIGH-TECH english level. They seems to think that they are very smart and stand way ahead of others. I find it very annoying.

Thats the dillema in life. So wad about Malaysia? Yes the name itself explain it all.

So if you ask me which category i belongs to? I would say None of these two :D
